N.O.T.D. Essie Watermelon
Todays n.o.t.d. is Watermelon from Essie. A colour that best can be described as a fuchsia red. This would normally not be my choise of colour, i love nudes and pinks, but somehow i was drawn to this colour. Maybe its because these kind of colours (burgundy, plum) are thé colours for fall and winter. I paid € 9,99 for this.

N.O.T.D.Pro White Original by Alessandro
Showing my almost bare nails today :). I first buffed and shined my nails before i put on Pro White Original by Alessandro.
Pro White is a clear nailpolish with brightening effect with an anti-yellowing formula for white nails. So says the European website of Alessandro (http://www.alessandro.eu).
I received this nailpolish in my Glossybox of July, it's the first time i tried it and i wanted to give you a look. On the pic you can't see this but the polish has a bit of a blue undertone, thats what makes the nails look whiter. It's a great polish when your nails are a bit yellow (not the smokers yellow nails) and you want to make them look cleaner. It makes your nails look like they've been professionally manicured.
It's also great polish for those who can't wear nailpolish (the coloured ones) at the job. Your nails get a nice shine and they look healthy and clean. Pro White costs € 12.95.

Hairproducts for thick and curly hair.
My blog item today is about hair products. My hair is thick and curly, so it needs extra care to keep it bouncy and soft. The shampoo i'm using for almost 2 years now is the Chi Nourish intense. I really love this shampoo because it doesn't dry out the ends of my hair (like other shampoo's do) and it really cleanses my scalp. I used to buy shampoos for normal hair to get that real clean feeling after shampooing. My experience with shampoos for dry hair is, that i didn't had that clean feeling after washing my hair. Thats why i love the Chi Nourish intense, it really cleanses my hair and its nourishing.
After washing i use the Chi nourish intense Silk hair Masque. I use it on toweldry hair. So after washin i put this in my hair and leave it in for about 10 minutes. Because my hair is thick it needs some time to soak in the product. After rinsing it out; my hair feels really soft and silky and its easy to comb through. I'm very satisfied with the Chi products.
The Uniq one all in one treatment, is my protection shield before i blow dry. It's an all in one treatment (says the description on the bottle) thats takes care of: dry and damaged hair, shine and frizz control, heat protection, silkiness and smoothness, hair colour protection with uva/uvb filters, easier brushing and ironing, incredible detangling, long lasting hairstyle, splitt ends prevention, ads body.
I spray this in my wet hair before combing and dry blowing. I use this product for 5 months now and it grew on me. At first i wasn't enthousiastic about it. The substance is very thin (a bit milky) and somehow i think my hair needs something thicker and richer. I also don't like the scent of this product, it's smells a bit like after shave. Uniq one does make my hair easy to comb through and bouncier. So thats a plus. I think this product works even better, when your hair is not as thick as mine.
The Orofludo oil (maroccan oil) has a heavenly scent. So sweet! It smells like vanilla. This oil i rub into the ends of my hair to make my hair look shiny and healthy. Love this product. I use it every day to keep the shine.
Chi Silk infusion is also a leave in treatment. The product is a bit gel/oily like and it glides into your hair. It leaves your hair bouncy and shiny. The product actually contains silk. Not only your hair is smooth but your fingers too. So smooth my hairblower sometimes glides out of my hands.

Topcoat review
Vandaag een kort review over topcoats die ik gebruikt heb. Een topcoat is een glanzende doorschijnende laklaag die je bovenop je nagellak aanbrengt. Het zorgt voor een mooie glans en beschermt je nagellak tegen schilferen (chippen). Topcoats heb je van diverse merken met natuurlijk ook diverse prijzen.Vandaag review ik 5 topcoats, 2 van Essence, 1 van Entity, 1 van INM en 1 van Maybelline.
Ik zal beginnen met de topcoat van Entity: Dit vind ik een hele fijne topcoat. Je ziet het aan de foto er zit maar een klein beetje in het flesje. Deze topcoat geeft een mooi glanzend toplaagje dat niet te dik is. Het wordt ook niet dik tijdens gebruik, zo vervelend als je lak of topcoat dik en stroperig wordt. Het fijne aan deze topcoat is dat mijn nagellak toch wel 4-5 dagen blijft zitten zonder te beschadigen. Tot nu toe heb ik dit bij geen andere topcoat gehad, terwijl ik toch ook de huishoudelijke klusjes doe. Het nadeel van deze topcoat is, als je steentjes op je nagels plakt dat die er zo weer van af vallen. Wat de exacte prijs is weet ik niet precies, ik heb het flesje kado gehad bij een manicure cursus. Ik schat het op € 6,- plus minus. Entity kun je over het algemeen alleen bij de nagelgroothandels/webwinkels kopen.

Essence gel-look topcoat: dit vind ik geen fijne topcoat. Het is te dik van substantie en droogt daarom niet snel. Een van de pluspunten van een top coat moet zijn dat het sneldrogend is. Ik wil in ieder geval niet nog een kwartier met "natte" nagels zitten wachten. Helaas voldoet deze topcoat niet aan deze eis. Het geeft wel een mooie glans aan de nagels, helaas heb ik daar geen foto van. Deze topcoat kost tussen de € 2,00 en € 3,00 bij het kruidvat.

In my opinion a topcoat needs to be quick drying, i don't want to wait yet another 20 minutes to get my nails to dry. On the positive side this topcoat gives a beautiful shine though. Too bad i don't have a pic of that. The price of the gel-look topcoat is between € 2,00 and € 3,00 at my local drugstore.
De Maybelline Express Finish (dry in 40 seconds) heb ik pas aangeschaft en 2 keer gebruikt. Ik ben positief over deze topcoat, het droogt heel snel (weet niet zeker op het idd ook in 40 sec droogt) en het zorgt voor een redelijk mooie glans op je nagels. Of het mijn nagellak ook heel goed beschermd waardoor mijn nagellak langer blijft zitten, dat weet ik nu nog niet. Hiervoor gebruik ik het nog te kort. Deze topcoat kost € 8,95 bij Etos. Eerlijk gezegd vind ik het een dure top coat.

The Maybelline Express Finish (dry in 40 seconds) i recently purchased and i used it about two times now. Even though i haven't used it much i am positive about this topcoat. It is very fast drying, not sure if it dries within 40 seconds ;), and it gives a nice shine to the nails. Because of the short period i'm using it now, i can't say if it protects my nailpolish from chipping. I payed € 8,95 for the Maybelline Express Finish to me this is an expensive topcoat.

Ook dit is een goedkope topcoat, ik denk dat het ook ergens tussen de € 2,00 en € 3,00 zit, qua prijs.

Mijn laatste review gaat over de Out the door topcoat van INM. Deze topcoat heb ik ongeveer 1 jaar gebruikt voordat ik overstapte naar Entity. Heel veel nagellakliefhebbers en Nailartists kennen deze topcoat wel. Ik denk dat het een van de populairste topcoats is. Ik ben ook heel erg tevreden over deze topcoat, het droogt supersnel en geeft een mooie glans. Wat ik minder vind aan Out the door is dat het na een tijdje (misschien een maand of 2) dik en stroperig wordt. Dan heb je echt wel een nagellak verdunner nodig om het weer dun te krijgen. Dit is me al twee keer overkomen. Ik vind deze topcoat vooral geschikt als je steentjes of ander "bumpy items" op je nagels plakt. Bij andere topcoats vliegen de steentjes, bij wijze van spreken, zo van mijn nagels af, niet bij Out the door. De Out the door van INM kost ongeveer € 7,95 en is te krijgen bij de nagelgroothandel of nagelwebshop. Helaas heb ik geen foto van de Out the door top coat.

Lots of nailpolish lovers and nail artists are familiar with this top coat. I think it's one of the most popular topcoats. I too love Out the door, it dries in an instant and it gives a beautiful shine. The one thing i don't like about this topcoat is that it thickens after a month or two. After two months you need some nail polish thinner to keep it fluid. It happened to me twice. This topcoat is in particular great when you apply rhinestones or other bumpy stuff on your nails. It keeps them in their place, no doubt about it. The price of Out the door by INM is about € 7,95 you can order it online or buy it at your nailproducts supplier.

Nail art inspiration
I started doing nailart about 1,5 year ago. I was inspired and impressed by You tubers doing various designs with acrylic nails and i loved to watch their videos. There was so much creativity going on, but i couldn't do acrylics. So i decided to create my own designs with nailpolish.
Thats how i start doing nail art. Not kwnowing there were a lot of people doing the same. My big inspiration on You tube is love4nails she does a new nail art design (using mainly nailpolish) every week. If you don't know her work you should look her up on You tube.
Here are a couple of nail art creations i designed myself. These creations i made when i just started doing nail art. At the moment i'm not doing much nail art because of my fulltime job. I need to start again soon, i love doing nail art too much!

Mary-Lou Manizer The Balm(also in English)
Ik wilde jullie even op de hoogte houden van mijn voorlaatste aankoop. De Mary-Lou Manizer van The Balm. Een veelzijdig produkt, je kunt het gebruiken als highlighter of oogschaduw maar bijvoorbeeld ook als body glitter.
Een paar you-tubers (lovemelissamichelle,emilynoel,alhsander) was heel enthousiast over dit produkt. Meteen toen ik de Mary-Lou zag wist ik, deze highlighter wil ik ook. Het zag er zo mooi uit vooral als het aangebracht werd bovenop de jukbeenderen. Het fijne aan dit produkt is, dat het een hele goede highlighter is zonder overdreven veel glitter. Het glanst echt super, dus bij het aanbrengen moet je daar wel rekening mee houden. Je hebt echt maar een heel klein beetje nodig.
De verpakking is ook mooi (erg fifties), het moet een tinnen blikje voorstellen met een "mugshot" van een ouderwetse pin up op de voorkant. Heel leuk bedacht van The Balm.
Ik heb mijn exemplaar bij www.boozyshop.nl besteld voor ongeveer € 16,95. Speciaal voor mijn Mary-Lou heb ik een nieuwe kwast besteld (ook bij boozyshop) van het merk Models own. Deze kwast kost ongeveer € 10,-. Helaas is mijn Mary-Lou Manizer niet helemaal heel aangekomen, minpunten voor de boozyshop, het werd opgestuurd in een envelop dus de postbode gooit het pakje dan gewoon door de brievenbus. Ik vermoed dat daardoor de inhoud niet meer heel is. Toch ben ik er erg blij mee, dit is echt een produkt waar ik jaren plezier van kan hebben, want je hebt er echt heel weinig van nodig.

My Nyx make up
Vandaag een stukje over mijn Nyx make up. Nyx is een amerikaans cosmeticamerk dat in Nederland alleen via webwinkels te verkrijgen is. Alhoewel ik gehoord heb dat je dit merk nu ook bij Douglas kunt kopen. Ik bestel mijn Nyx producten vaak via www.boozyshop.nl. http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/shop/ is de officiële webwinkel van Nyx.
Nyx is een low budget cosmeticamerk van verbazend goede kwaliteit. De pigmentatie van de oogschaduws,blushers en lipgloss is zeer goed. Ik heb 2 oogschaduws Dallas en Brown. Zie de swatches hieronder. Dallas is een zacht roze kleur, dat eigenlijk iets te flets is voor mijn huidskleur. Brown is natuurlijk een mooie bruine kleur met (vind ik) een ietwat groene ondertoon. Deze kleur past perfect bij mijn huidskleur, ik denk dat deze kleur bij elke huidskleur staat. De single oogschaduw van Nyx kost € 5,95 bij Boozyshop. En je hebt de keuze uit 140 kleuren!

Nyx is an low budget cosmetic brand that has an amazingly good quality. The pigmentation of the shadows, blushes and lip glosses are very good. I own two Nyx single eyeshadows. One in Dallas a very light (almost pale) pink colour. And one in Brown a very beautiful colour that has a bit of a green undertone. It is an amazig brown colour that will look good on every skin tone.The only downside is, that the substance is powdery. I paid € 5,95 for one eyeshadow. If you order dircetly from the Nyx website one singe eyeshadow costs $ 5,00.

De kleur Burgundy is een donker rode kleur. Ik vind het meer een kleur voor het najaar en de winter. Deze kleur is ook goed dekkend en heeft qua dekking hetzelfde effect als een lipstick. Hiervan heb ik er twee. Een in de kleur Horse Raddish(groen) en een in de kleur Electric Blue. Twee prachtige kleuren die je oogmake up nét dat beetje extra kunnen meegeven. Ik gebruik ze vooral onder de onderste wimperlijn en in mijn ooghoeken. Je kunt ze ook als basis gebruiken voor je oogschaduw zodat je oogschaduw langer blijft zitten. Je hebt keuze uit 25 verschillende kleuren bij Boozyshop en 1 Jumbo Eye Pencil kost € 3,59.

Dit waren mijn Nyx make up produkten. Ik heb er nog niet zoveel maar ik ben wel erg tevreden met de kwaliteit. Ik vind de kwaliteit prijsverhouding bij Nyx erg goed. Mijn Nyx stash zal zich de komende tijd zeker gaan uitbreiden.

New Essence nailpolishes/ Also in English
Gisteren heb ik 8 nieuwe nagellakjes en een nail Art Topper, van Essence gekocht. Ik was echt verrast dat de nieuwe lijn van Essence nu al te koop was. Ik vind de nieuwe vorm van de flesjes superleuk. Ze zijn nu ronder van vorm en lijken wat op de flesjes van Bourjois, met een E in reliëf op de dop. Heel leuk gedaan van Essence. De lakjes kosten € 1,69 per stuk, ik heb ze bij het Kruidvat gekocht.
Natuurlijk heb ik de lakjes meteen uitgeprobeerd en ik moet zeggen dat ze erg snel droog zijn. Dat is een groot pluspunt. Ze drogen zelfs nog sneller dan de nagellakjes uit de vorige lijn. Naar mijn idee is de kwaliteit van de lak zelf wel wat achteruit gegaan. Ik moest bij sommige kleuren 3 laagjes gebruiken. Dit geldt vooral voor de pasteltinten. Ook het kwastje is vernieuwd, het is breder dan het oude kwastje waardoor het opbrengen, makkelijker gaat.
De lakjes die het meest dekkend zijn: Boho Chic een perzik/oranje kleur met zilveren mini glitters, Date in the Moonlight een diep donkerblauw met mooie lichtblauwe glitters en I'm Bluetiful een petroleum kleur. Voor de kleuren Free Hugs, Modern Romance en Iced Latte had ik 3 lagen nodig.
Er zitten 3 opvallende kleuren tussen de lakjes Absolutely Blue een violet blauwe kleur (deze kleur heeft iets weg van Bikini so Teeny van Essie), I'm bleutiful een petroleum kleur met mini zilverkleurige glitters en Date in the Moonlight . Ook zag ik een aparte okergele kleur Little miss sunrise in de schappen staan (deze kleur heb ik niet aangeschaft).
De nail art topper Night in Vegas is ook heel mooi. Het geeft je nagels een parelmoerachtige gloed. Op een lichte onderkleur ziet het er inderdaad parelmoerachtig met roségouden ondertoon, op een donkere onderkleur is het ook parelmoer maar dan met voornamelijk een rood koperen ondertoon. Van de Nail Art Toppers vond ik dit de meest opvallende.
Mijn favoriete kleuren zijn: Date in the Moonlight bij deze gebombardeerd tot mijn favoriete winterkleur en I'm Bluetiful. Voor mij zijn dit nieuwe Essence kleuren, er zitten geen kleuren bij die ik al heb. Ik heb ook al horen zeggen dat sommige kleuren er in de vorige lijn ook al bij zaten. Ik denk dat dit met Iced Latte het geval is.
Al met al leuke kleuren en een mooi flesje van Essence.

Last thursday i bought eight polishes from the new Essence nailpolish line and one Nail Art Topper topcoat. Luckily i could get my hands on the new line this soon. I thought they were going on sale at the end of August. What striked me at once is the form of the bottle, its a bit rounder now. The bottle looks a bit like the one from the Bourjois nailpolishes. I also like the letter E on top of the bottle. The nailpolishes costs € 1,69 each.
When i came home i swatched the colours immediately, i just couldnt wait. The nailpolishes are very quick drying. I think they dry even faster than the ones from the previous line. As for coverage, for the pastel colours i needed three coats of polish, the non pastel colours had a good coverage. Essence did improve the brush, its a bit wider now, which makes it easier to apply the polish.
The polishes with the best coverage are: Boho Chic a peach/orange with silver mini glitters in it, Date in the Moonlight a deep dark blue with light blue glitters and I'm Bluetiful a beautiful petrol. I needed three coats for Free Hugs, Modern Romance and Iced Latte.
There are three striking colours among the polishes i bought: Absolutely Blue a violet blue (looks a bit like Bikini so Teeny van Essie), I'm bleutiful a petrol with mini glitters in silver and Date in the Moonlight. In the store i also saw a deep yellow colour named Little miss sunrise but i decided not to buy that one.
The Nail Art Topper Night in Vegas is very beautiful too. Its a bit like a pearl and it could be a bit iridescent. On top of a light colour it looks a bit pearly with a rose gold undertone, on top of a dark colour it still is pearly, but then it has a red copper undertone. This is my favourite of the Nail Art Toppers.
My favourite colours are : Date in the Moonlight (this is going to be my favourite fall- and wintercolour) and I'm Bluetiful. To me these are all new colours, none of these colours i already own. Some people say that this line contains some "old" colours too. I think Iced Latte was also available in the previous range. Overall i like the new design of the bottles and the beautiful colours in it.
