London mini shopping haul

Afgelopen vrijdag ben ik een paar uur in Londen geweest om even te shoppen. We hadden prachtig weer, koud maar geen regen gelukkig. We zijn heel Oxfordstreet afgelopen op zoek naar leuke kleding e.d. De straat was superfeestelijk aangekleed en de winkels ook, prachtig om te zien en goed voor de christmas (shopping) spirit.

We hebben wat leuke kleding gekocht en ik heb natuurlijk ook wat make up ingeslagen. Niet te veel want ik had in Los Angeles al wat make up gekocht. Ik ben bij Boots en Superdrug geweest en heb een lipstick van Rimmel, oogschaduw, blusher, contouring palette en de porefessional van Benefit gekocht. Helaas hadden ze bij Superdrug (daar wordt de Sleek make up verkocht) geen oogschaduw paletten meer. Wel heel veel blusher trio's maar daar had ik nu geen interesse in. Misschien ga ik over een tijdje weer terug en dan hoop ik dat de oogschaduw paletten er weer zijn. Ik ben blij met mijn nieuwe aankopen oa de lipstick van Rimmel London (uit de Kate Moss Matte collectie) vind ik prachtig.


Last friday i was in London for a few hours of (christmas) shopping. The weather in London was beautiful, sunny and cold. We went straight to Oxford street and stayed there most of the time. Oxford street was decorated with beautiful christmas lights and so were the shops, wich got us into the christmas (shopping) spirit .

We've bought some clothing and ofcourse i couldn't help myself and bought some make up. I went to Boots and Superdrug and i bought a lipstick, eyeshadow, blusher and a counturing palette. I hoped to find some Sleek eyeshadow palettes at Superdrug but there weren't any. They had plenty of blusher trio's but i wasn't in the mood for that but i bought a contouring palette. I hope to go back to london soon and to buy some more Sleek make up. Here are the items i bought.

Een mooie koperkleurige baked eyeshadow met veel glans. Een mooie feestelijke kleur, het is van het merk Fashionista (mij onbekend) en het is mijn eerste baked eyeshadow.

This baked eyeshadow is from the brand Fashionista (never heard of this brand before) and it is in a shiny coppery shade. Very beautiful and festive.

Een matte lipstick (kate moss) van Rimmel London in de kleur 101 een mooie zacht mauve kleur. Een fijne matte lipstick die toch voedend aanvoelt.

Deze blusher (kleur Honey)  van No 7 is te licht voor mijn huid maar ik ga het als highlight gebruiken, mooi zonder al te veel glans. De kleur komt trouwens donkerder over op de foto.

I'm going to use this blusher by No 7 (colour is Honey) as a highlighter for daily use. It doesn't have to much shimmer. The colour is much lighter than the picture shows.

Toch maar besloten om dit te kopen en ik hoop dat het goed helpt. Porefessional om wijde poriën minder zichtbaar te maken, je kunt het zowel onder als bovenop je make up gebruiken.

Jingle bell Christmas nails (part 1)

Today i've been experimenting with christmas nail art. So this is what i've come up with so far. Hope you like it. Part 2 is coming up next week.

 
For this creation i added some glitter (diagonal) on top of the nailpolish

Here i used gold nailpolish and added glitter on the edges and gold confetti on the rest of the nail. To add the glitter i use a synthetic brush i apply some clear polish on it and then i dab it in the glitter. Then i put the glitter on my nails. For applying the confetti, i use a toothpick. First i apply clear polish on the part of the nail where i wan't to apply the confetti. Then i pick the confetti (one by one) and put them on my nails. After the polish has dried, i put a top coat over it.

November favorites (2012)

Hoi allemaal het is weer tijd voor de favorieten van de maand. Deze maand zit er wat variatie in de produkten, wat make up en wat huidverzorgingsprodukten. Produkten die ik graag gebruik deze maand of deze maand heb ontdekt. Van alles wat deze maand, zoals ik al zei. Laat mij even weten wat jou favorieten zijn.

Revlon lipgloss Coral Reef. Een lipgloss met een hele mooi kleur, zacht oranje. Het fijne is dat deze gloss ook vrij lang blijft zitten. Het is een wat dikker substantie die naar mijn mening, niet te plakkering is. In Nederland kun je Revlon produkten alleen via het internet aanschaffen.



Revlon lipgloss in Coral Reef. I love the colour and the gloss stays on quite a while too. The substance is kinda thick, but not too sticky for my taste. The price is about $8,-.

Deze mini's van Tarte heb ik bij Sephora in de US gekocht voor $10,-. Ik weet niet zeker of het merk Tarte ook bij Sephora in ons  land wordt verkocht. Ik heb de clean slate poreless gebruikt, omdat ik grove poriën heb, en het werkt heel goed. Het produkt is wat dikker en smeert bijzonder goed uit. Grove poriën zijn een stuk minder zichtbaar hiermee. Ook de oogprimer werkt heel goed. Mijn probleem is, dat wanneer ik een oog make up primer gebruik, ik van die craquelé achtige oogleden krijg. Een beetje van dat perkamentachtige. Terwijl normaal mijn oogleden vrij glad zijn. Met deze oogprimer heb ik daar geen last van en mijn oogmake up blijft goed zitten.

I bought this set of mini primers from Tarte at Sephora for $ 10,-. I used the clean slate poreless and i'm satisfied with it. It fills in pores and it goes on so smooth on my skin. This product leaves pores less visible, I love it. The other one i used is the eye primer and that one works great for me too. Other eyemakeup primers could leave my eyelids looking wrinkely, not beautiful. But this primer doesn't and it holds my eye make up for a long time.

Deze make up wipes heb ik ook in de US gekocht en ik ben er super enthousiast over. Ze zijn superfijn en laten geen olielaag achter. De meeste wipes laten een olielaagje achter dat mijn huid laat uitdrogen. Daar ben ik geen fan van. Een ander heel belangrijk voordeel is, dat ze make up heel goed verwijderen. Ik vind dat je deze Burts and Bees make up wipes wel kunt vergelijken met de Purity wipes van Dr. van de Hoog.

I love these make up wipes. I bought them at Nordstrom rack but you can purchase them at CVS as well. I love the soft feeling of the wipes and that they don't leave an oily film on my face. Most wipes do that and the oil dries out my skin. Another important factor is that the wipes remove makeup thoroughly. Love these i hope i can find them overhere too. A good alternative will be the Purity wipes from Dr. van de Hoog.

Ginvera exfoliating marvel gel. Dit zat in de glossybox van oktober. Ik gebruik het nu al 3 weken en ben echt tevreden over dit produkt. Het is een gel achtige substantie waar wat (peeling) korreltjes inzitten. Je merkt het al meteen als je het op je huid smeert dat het de bovenste huidlaag goed losweekt. Ik laat het ongeveer vijf minuten zitten en was het dan af met een vochtig washandje. Ik gebruik het ongeveer 2 maal per week en heb echt goede resultaten bereikt. Mijn huid glanst mooi na gebruik. Tijdens mijn vakantie werd mijn huid heel droog en dof ondanks dat ik 2 maal per week exfolieerde en een vochtmasker gebruikte. De Ginvera exfoliating marvel gel kwam als een geschenk uit de hemel. Het werkt echt heel goed.

Hier wat info die ik van de site van Glossybox heb gehaald.Ginvera exfoliating marvel gel is een twee in een exfoliator die make up, onzuiverheden en doffe huidcellen verwijdert. Ginvera exfoliating marvel gel i got this in my October glossybox. I am using this exfoliator for three weeks now with very good results. The gel contains peeling grains and once you apply the gel onto your skin, you can feel that its loosens the skin. I leave it to work for about five minutes after that, i remove it with a wet washingcloth. I use this exfoliator for about 2 times a week and the results are overwhelming. My skin glows again. During my vacation i noticed my skin got dry and dull, even though i used an exfoliatior and a moisture mask. Ginvera exfoliating marvel gel came in on the right time.

Some info i got from the Dutch Glossybox site. Ginvera exfoliating marvel gel is a two in one exfolatior that removes make up, impurities and dead skin cells. Mijn favoriete BB cream. Het is lekker vol van substantie en het egaliseert mijn teint. Een ander voordeel is dat het Spf 35 bevat. Een ideale dagcreme die mijn huid een mooi tintje geeft en beschermt tegen de zon. Als je een droge huid hebt zou je er eventueel een serum onder kunnen aanbrengen, dat doe ik ook in de winter. My favorite BB cream. I love the creamy substance and that it evens out my skintone. This BB creme also has Spf 35. It protects my skin from the sun and it gives me a nice complexion. If you're skin is very dry you could use a serum underneath. Thats what i do in winter. I've allready wrote an article about the Estee Lauder Daywear BB cream.

Josie maran 100% pure Aragan oil. Ik heb nooit de behoefte gehad om huidoliën te gebruiken, ik heb een gemengde huid en was bang dat de olie niet door mijn huid geabsorbeerd zou worden. Dit zou dan weer kunnen leiden tot puistjes e.d. Nee huidoliën waren het beste voor mensen met een droge of heel droge huid. Nou ja tot een maand geleden dus, ik besloot om toch de Josie maran 100% pure Aragan oil te kopen. Vanwege de goeie berichten her en der. Met goede resultaten, want ik gebruik deze huidolie nu een week of drie en ik ben er heel erg tevreden over. Het trekt meteen in mijn huid waardoor het heel zacht wordt. Ook de ochtend erna, ik gebruik het alleen 's avonds, voelt mijn huid nog zacht aan. Ik ben zo enthousiast dat ik meer huidoliën wil aanschaffen (je kunt ze ook halen bij de natuurwinkels zoals Erica). Dit proefflesje heeft $ 14,- gekost en ik heb het bij Sephora in de US gehaald. Ik denkwel dat het ook in Nederland te koop is. Maar je kunt dus eventueel ook naar je dichtsbijzijnde natuurwinkel. Die produkten werken net zo goed heb ik horen zeggen.

Josie maran 100% pure Aragan oil. I was always hesitant to use oils on my skin. I was affraid that my combination skin couldn't absorb the oil wich would lead to break outs etc. Eventually i got over this and decided to try this Aragan oil and guess what, i'm super enthousiastic about it. I bought the try out sample for about $ 14,- at Sephora. I've been using this for a few weeks now (only at night) and my skin definitely benefits from this oil. As soon as i apply it, my skin absorbs the oil. It doesn't leave an oily film on my skin after applying. My skin feels so soft and smooth until the morning after.  I was so surprised by this, that i'm thinking of buying more skin oils to use at night. I read somewhere that the "cheaper" Aragan (skin) oils work just as good as this one. I'm definitely gonna try that out. The full size Josie Maran 100% pure Aragan oil costs € 48,-.

Deze blusher van H&M, ik heb het al een jaar of twee, heb ik in oktober herontdekt. Na het zien van een video van Carly Bybel (carlibel55) de "Back to school make up under 10 minutes challenge". Hierin laat ze zien hoe je je snel kunt opmaken met in principe maar twee produkten, blush en oogschaduw. Omdat ze in deze video aarde tinten gebruikt bracht het mij op het idee om deze blusher hiervoor te gebruiken. Heel makkelijk, blusher op de wangen en in de arcadeboog en wat lichte oogschaduw op het ooglid. Mascara en eventueel potlood en natuurlijk iets op de lippen en je kunt op weg. Goeie tip!

H&M blusher in an earthy tone. I've started re-using this blush after is saw a video by Carly Bybel (carlibel55) Back to School make up under 10 minutes challenge. She was using some earthy tones Mac eyeshadow and blusher to do her whole face. I thought that was a great tip because i always wear make up to the office. So i decided to my own version of her back to school make up. Thats why i re-discovered this H&M blush i had. I use it on my cheaks and in my crease, some light colour on the lids and i'm good to good. Great tip!

Mijn enigste misser van deze maand. En volgens mij ook de enigste misser tot nu toe. Ook een item uit mijn glossybox van oktober. Stop cracking up heet deze lipbalsem en het zou helpen tegen gebarsten en droge lippen. Als dit op de verpakking staan dan verwacht ik heel was, een soort wondermiddel waarmee droge lippen superzacht worden en barstjes en droge plekken verdwijnen. Helaas heb ik dit niet zo ervaren, mijn lippen worden wel soepel door deze créme/balsem maar ze blijven droog. Klinkt raar maar toch is het zo, de balsem trekt niet in je lippen maar ligt er als een vette laag op. Hierdoor wordt de lip wel wat soepeler maar het probleem is er niet mee verholpen. Eerlijk gezegd vindt ik de stick van Purol of mijn Eos lipbalm (de mintgroene) veel beter werken.

My only misser this month is also an item from the October glossybox. The Stop crackin up lipbalm. This lipbalm would heal chapped and dry lips, so it says on the packaging. I've tried it because i have dry lips whole year through and i expected some kind of miracle to happen. Well no, this lipbalm leaves a sticky layer on your lips wich makes them softer eventualy but it doesn't prevent my lips from drying or chapping. Thumbs down for this one i have better results with my Eos lipbalm (the mint flavour) or my Purol chapstick.



My new handbag

Here's my new handbag. I bought it at Aldo in the US, the price was about $ 54,-. I love the colours nude and black and the handles (a bit chanel like). To me  this bag is big enough, theres a compartment to put my phone and a compartment to put my passport or something like that. A classy yetmodern bag. I haven't used it yet, but i'm going to very soon.

F.O.T.D. A bit of tangerine (english version too)

Het is weer even geleden dat ik een blogartikel heb geschreven, ik was eerlijk gezegd een beetje lui de afgelopen week. Ik had een paar vrije dagen en die heb goed besteed door niet al te veel te doen. Maar ik ben er weer met een F.O.T.D. Vandaag staat de kleur oranje centraal. Voor velen misschien een vreemde keus in deze periode maar ik vind oranje nog heel goed kunnen. Als je naar buiten kijkt zie je het vallen van de bladeren en daarbij zie ik veel oranje achtige kleuren. Dat is ook mijn inspiratie geweest.

Als basis heb ik de color tattoos Fierce andTangy en On and on Bronze (Bad to the Bronze) van Maybelline gebruikt. Fierce en Tangy  heb ik op het ooglid aangebracht met en in de arcadeboog On and on Bronze . Brown van Nyx heb ik in de arcadebroog gedaan en tot ongeveer tot het midden van het wenkbrauwbeen. Voor de diepte heb ik in de buitenste ooghoek een donkerbruine oogschaduw gebruikt. Voor de afwerking; zwarte eyeliner, zwart kohlpotlood en natuurlijk mascara.

Op mijn wangen een perzikroze/oranje blush van Yves rocher en als highlight de face and body bronzer van Essence. Mijn lippen heb ik eerst ingekleurd met een lippotlood van de Etos (003 licht bruin/roze) en daar overheen een lipgloss van Revlon in Coral Reef.

My last blogarticle is about was about a week ago, i had a lazy week. I was enjoying some days off and don't wanted to do anything. But i'm back with an F.O.T.D. This i time i chose orange to be the main colour. In fall you see a lot of orange like colours in nature and that was my inspiration for this look.

As a base i used Maybelline color tattoos in Fierce and Tangy and On and on Bronze (Bad to the Bronze). On the eyelid i have Fierce en Tangy and On and on Bronze  in the crease. Then i applied Brown by Nyx in the crease and halfway the browbone. For some dimension i added a dark brown colour in the outer corner. For  roundup i applied black eyeliner and black gel eyeliner and black mascara.

As foundation i applied Estee Lauders BB creme in the colour 02.
Concealer: erase paste benefit (2)
Browpencil: Anastasia Brow pen (longwearing) in Universal deep
Eyeshadow: Maybelline color tattoos in Fierce and Tangy and On and on bronze. Nyx eyeshadow in Brown. Dark brown eyeshadow.
Mascara: Max Factor Masterpiece High definition mascara
Eyeliner: Maybelline Eyestudio lasting drama gel eyeliner and Vera valenti eyeliner in black.
Blush: A peach/pink by Yves Rocher
Highlighter: Essence sun club for brunettes
Lips: Etos lippencil in 003 and Revlon lipgloss in Coral Reef.

N.O.T.D. Cute as a button Essie

Today i'm wearing "Cute as a button" by Essie. It is a lovely colour, a mix between soft pink and peach.This colour is really cute as a button. I love these medium bright colours on cloudy fall days like today. This colour ads a bit of sunshine to my day.

I bought this Essie polish here in Holland and it strikes me that over here, we only get the nailpolish bottles with the wide brush. I'm so happy with that,  i bought "Eternal Optimist" at CVS in LA but that bottle had a small brush. I wanted to buy more Essie nailpolishes in the US but every bottle had a small brush. Although Essie has a good quality nailpolish (quickdrying and not thick) it is the wide brush that makes applying so much easier.

The price of this nailpolish is about € 10,00.

Tressemé Luxurious Moisture shampoo (with vitamin E)

Tressemé Luxurious Moisture shampoo heb ik gebruikt tijdens mijn vakantie in LA. Een hele goede en betaalbare shampoo die ontzettend goed werkt voor droog en krullend haar. Na twee keer wassen merkte ik echt dat mijn haar soepeler en minder frizzy was. Na een vorige vakantie in LA (toen ik ook deze shampoo gebruikt had) merkten ik en mijn kapster dat mijn haar veel zachter en soepeler was. Je haar blijft soepel tot een paar weken na gebruik. Toen kon ik niet meteen achterhalen wat de exacte reden was, ik weet wel dat ik toen ook Tressemé shampoo had gebruikt. 

Omdat het best goedkoop is verwachtte ik er niet veel van en had het daarom niet gelinkt aan mijn zachte en soeple haar. Gelukkig ben ik er nu achter dat het ontzettend goed werkt. Helaas kon ik geen grote fles meenemen (mijn koffer was overvol) maar het is me gelukt om twee mini's van 88 ml mee te nemen.

Voor zover ik weet, kun je Tressemé shampoo ook niet via Nederlandse websites krijgen, helaas. Maar mocht je richting de US gaan en wat extra soepelheid voor je haar kunnen gebruiken, denk dan aan Tressemé. Je kunt het bij CVS, Walgreens of Rite Aid kunt kopen voor ongeveer $ 4,- amerikaanse dollar. Een mini flesje kost $ 1,00 amerikaanse dollar.

Ingredients: water, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropylbetane, glycol distearate, tocopheryl acetate, pantenol, nacinamide, biotin, ascorbic acid, cocamide mea, sodium chloride, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, polyquaternium-47, polysorbate-20, disodium edta, dmdm hydantoin, fragrance.

Tressemé Luxurious Moisture shampoo. I used this shampoo during my vacation in LA. It works so good for dry and frizzy hair. After using it for the second time i could feel my hair had gone more flexible and less frizzy. My hairdresser had noticed this too, after another vacantion, and asked me what i had used for my hair. My hair stayed smooth until a couple weeks after using Tressemé. Because Tressemé is a lowbudget shampoo, i didn't expected my hair had so much benefit from this shampoo.

I know now what caused my hair to be so smooth and flexible. Too bad that i can't buy Tressemé shampoo in Holland and i couldn't take a large botte with me (suitcase was full). I bought two sample bottles, 88 ml each, instead. Don't know if they sell this brand in the rest of Europe or England. Are you planning to go to the States and are you in need a good moisturizing shampoo, think of Tressemé. A large bottle costs about $ 4,00 american dollars, a  little sample bottle costs $ 1,00. You can buy Tressemé at drugstores (CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid) and in supermarkets.

Catrice Pure Chrome

Net gekocht bij het Kruidvat, Catrice Pure Chrome in C03 Treasure it. Een hele mooie zilvergrijze kleur oogschaduw. De Pure Chrome oogschaduws zijn Limited Edition, dus als je er nog een wil hebben moet je opschieten. Bij mijn kruidvat lagen er nog genoeg, dat wel.

Volgens Catrice zijn dit zeer sterk gepigmenteerde oogschaduws, die lang blijven zitten. Ik heb de oogschaduw nog niet gebruikt maar de swatch laat een goeie pigmentatie zien. Hoe het met de duurzaamheid zit? Dat weet ik nog niet want ik heb het net aangeschaft.

De kleur waarvoor ik gekozen heb is zilvergrijs. Een prachtige kleur vind ik. Andere kleuren uit deze lijn: So Precious een olijfgroene kleur, Bombay Bauble een antracietgrijze kleur en Artfully Lustrous een helder roze kleur.

Wat ik ook heel mooi vind is de 3-D tweedlook uitvoering, echt prachtig. Mooi dat een lowbudget merk er toch iets extra's van maakt.  Ik ben niet van de Limited Editions maar dit jaar heb ik al twee items van Catrice's Limited Editions gekocht (de andere was het Revoltaire pallet). De prijs van deze oogschaduw is € 3,99.

a strong pigmented eyeshadow

I just bought Catrice Pure Chrome in C03 Treasure it.  Treasure it is a beautiful siver/gray colour from the Limited Edition series of Catrice. The shadows must be very strong pigmented  and longlasting, according to Catrice. Don't know about the longlasting part (haven't used it yet) but this eyeshadow is very strong pigmented.

These shadows come in 4 shades, Treasure it is a silvergrey, So Precious an olive green, Bombay Bauble a darkgrey and Artfully Lustrous a beautiful pink.

I especially like the design of the eyeshadow, it's done in a 3-D tweed pattern. I do like it that a low budget brand, has an eye for design too. I'm not into the Limited Editions (of any brand) but i do find myself buying a Catrice Limited edition item for the secontd time this year (the other one was the Revoltaire eye pallet). I must have a thing for Catrice's Limited editions. The price of the eyeshadow is  € 3,99.

Max Factor masterpiece high definition mascara

Het is een alweer even geleden dat ik een blogartikel heb geschreven, door mijn vakantie kwam ik er niet toe om regelmatig te bloggen. Ik ben inmiddels weer terug in Nederland en zal vanaf nu weer regelmatig een stukje schrijven.

Vandaag een stukje over Max Factor Masterpiece High Definition Mascara. Ik heb het een tijdje geleden in mijn Glossybox ontvangen en heb deze mascara tijdens mijn vakantie getest. Ik ben zeer verrast over de kwaliteit van deze mascara en ik vind het zelfs beter dan de High Impact mascara van Clinique. Dit was tot voor kort mijn favoriet. In vergelijking met de Max Factor mascara vind ik die van Clinique klonterig/dik en die is eigenlijk niet dik van substantie.

Max Factor Masterpiece High Definition mascara maakt mijn wimpers mooi vol en lang, zonder te klonten. Ik vind dat het mijn wimpers een valse wimper effect geeft en het is ook mooi op de onderste wimpers. Deze mascara verlengt en geeft volume. Ik ben hier zo tevreden over dat ik een full size ga aanschaffen. Een mascara die mijn niet erg volle wimpers zo mooi vol maakt en verlengt, kan ik zeker niet laten staan. Wat ook heel fijn is dat het niet doorloopt. Max Factor masterpiece high definition mascara kost ongeveer € 15,-  je kunt het in drie kleuren krijgen, black/ black brown en brown.

Today i'm reviewing Max Factor masterpiece high definition mascara. I received a sample size in my Glossybox a few months ago. I tested this mascara during my vacation and to my surprise i'm very satisfied with it. It lengthens and gives volume to my lashes without being thick or clumpy. My lashes are a bit longer now (thanks to Revitalash) but need more volume. To me they look a bit like false lashes, but in a natural way, when i put this mascara on. I can even use it on my bottom lashes without them looking to overdone. This mascara is my favourite now.

It replaced my other favourite Clinique's High Impact mascara. The substance of the Max Factor masterpiece high definition mascara is much more fluid. Another plus is that it doesn't run out. I like this mascara enough to buy a full size. Over here in Holland it costs about € 15,00 and we have them in three colours black, brown and brown/black.

Mijn n.o.t.d. is een mooie roze (barbie) kleur van het merk Sinful colors. De kleur is Pink Forever nr 713. Ik weet niet of dit merk via Nederlandse websites te koop is. Ben je in Amerika of ga je binnenkort naar Amterika,  je kunt Sinful colors bij Walgreens en Target kopen. Hier in L.A. heb ik $ 1,99 amerikaanse dollars betaald.
